So, I haven’t been in the studio for quite some time. I was on quite the roll there for a second and then just had to give it a break. For one, I started going on a ton of auditions again. Two, I started getting a bit sick, and didn’t want to record without my voice being in decent shape. And thirdly, and most importantly, I realized I couldn’t afford it!!! Haha. I was so excited just to be in the studio and to be creating again, that I completely forgot that all these checks I was writing at the end of each session would actually have consequences attached; as in the withdrawal of money from my bank account that I cannot afford to not have IN the account at this time. I just really need to pace myself better. Michael’s probably wondering where I disappeared to (The studio guy) and the new drummer I’ve found has been asking when I’ll be ready for him! I’m really looking forward to working with him too–he’s AMAZING! But, again, I’ll be paying him too.
In other news, I’ve decided to join my family in traveling to Myrtle Beach for Christmas. I’ll be away December 22nd-December 26th.
Happy Holidays everyone!
I’ve been going through a rough time this past week. I’ve been keeping extremely busy to keep my mind off some not-so-good things. One of the rewards of such a busy schedule has been, for the first time, I have TWO shows calling me back that will actually conflict with each other and that I must decide between. It’s a great problem to have.
Because of the personal things I was going through, i believe it helped me give the most powerful audition I’ve ever given in my entire life. The climax of my personal issues actually happened RIGHT BEFORE going to the second audition. It was all fresh in my mind and I used it. I’d never been so confident in knowing I would hear from a director. And sure enought the next day there was a message on my phone saying that they’re considering me for one of the lead roles of my favorite show, INTO THE WOODS!
The other show’s final call back is tonight at 5. There’s actually a salary, and it’s at the Manhattan Children’s Theatre. It’s such a cute theatre, and the director seems wonderful and the show’s called Three Little Pigs: The Musical. I know, I’ve never heard of it either.
Ok, well, Until next time.
